Stressed to the Max! BHRT Beyond Estrogen and Progesterone

I should preface this by saying I am 28 years old.

In the past five years, I have watched my libido plummet, developed IBS and nasty cases of eczema, battled off and on with insomnia, and have dealt with constant fatigue, moodiness, and dark, puffy circles under my eyes. All things considered, I somehow managed to keep the following combinations in my life somewhat balanced from 2004 until the present:

  • Full time school/full timework/boyfriend/friends/having a life
  • Full time summer school/full time work/part time internship/fiancé/friends/planning a wedding/having a life
  • Full time school/full time work/marriage/friends/having a life/searching for post-college job in a crummy economy/saving money while trying to have a life
  • Full time work/part time job/unhappy marriage/friends/saving money/having a life/running a household
  • Relocation to Austin/employment insecurity/living alone/managing a budget/saving money/creating a new life/making new friends/going through a divorce (This is my current combination.)

I want to put on sweat pants, eat a dozen thickly frosted cupcakes and crawl back into bed to sleep for 100 years right now. I feel like this everyday. Believe me, I’m a runner, I eat right, and I try to make opportunities for relaxation and fun. But, I always carry with me this burnt out sensation, that I could be having more fun, but I’m too tired! Even on the weekends. In my oppinion – I’m pretty sure my adrenals are shot.

So why hormone replacement therapy…better yet, BIO-IDENTICAL hormone replacement therapy? I wanted to find a natural solution to get my body back on track, plus if I do need to start a hormone regimen, I won’t be using BHRT forever. I know it may seem crazy that I want to do this since I’m not middle aged, but I think this might help me.

I meet with Dr. E and his team next week to see what I need to do. I’m excited! I’m sure you’ve seen those pictures where a smiling lady is running through fields of flowers, arms outstretched to the sky. You look at her face and know she is thinking, “I feel absolutely wonderful!!!” I want that to be me.

Stay tuned.

With balance and gratitude, ~*BH2 Girl*~

PS - This isn’t me but I included it just in case you needed to see a picture of a woman running in a field feeling wonderful.
