Your Insurance May Reduce Your BHRT Costs

Information for Insurance Patients:

Bioidentical Hormone Therapy is typically offered by physicians and clinics as a cash-for-service program only.  Many clinics charge thousands of dollars for this type of offering.  Patients may find some physicians that offer bioidentical hormone therapy services as an in-network provider, however these providers become very constrained with this model and struggle to provide the time necessary in consults to provide the level of care that patients deserve when being treated with bioidentical hormones.

At Balanced Hormones and Health, we have found a way to accept out of network of  insurance to help alleviate some of the cost to our patients. We wanted to find a way to enable/allow our patients to utilize their health insurance benefits, yet still be able to receive the highest level of service and care.  We found that if we were an “in network” provider and receive the contracted in-network rates paid by the insurance companies, then we would not be able to spend more than 10-15 minutes with each patient and provide the level of care needed.  We schedule our patients for an hour so that they have plenty of face-to-face time with the doctor and/or nurse practitioner.  During the appointment, the clinician will spend time reviewing your health history, discussing your symptoms, and explaining your lab results in full detail.

If we can work with a patient’s insurance, there will still be a program fee that the patient will have to pay, although it will be less than the program fee for cash patients.  All labs will be covered by the patient’s insurance.   Another benefit at work here is that in all cases, we will be able to satisfy the patient’s out-of-network deductible, so that for the remainder or the calendar year the deductible will be met.

Prescription Information:

We will provide you with a quick and easy form, called a Universal Claim Form, that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement towards your bioidentical hormone prescriptions.   Most insurance providers partially reimburse patients for their bioidentical hormone prescriptions.

We order all of our bioidentical hormone prescriptions from a premier national compounding pharmacy who provides green products sourced from Europe, so we can have all of your prescriptions mailed to you at home or at work, whichever is most convenient.  We order all of our prescriptions in a 90-day supply for two reasons:

1)      You don’t have to worry about getting a prescription refill every month.

2)       when we order your prescriptions in a 90-day rather than just a 30-day supply, you actually get a discounted rate on your prescriptions.
