Q: What’s the difference between synthetic hormones and bioidentical hormones?
A: Generally, Bioidentical hormones are now considered safer to use than synthetic hormones. Manufactured in the lab to have the same molecular structure as hormones made by our own bodies, bioidentical hormones are entirely natural, and our bodies can metabolize them as easily as hormones made by the body itself.
On the other hand, our bodies react significantly differently to synthetic hormones, which are created in the lab to emulate the action of hormones our bodies produce naturally. It must be noted that synthetic hormones are often quite strong, and have been known to trigger the onset of a variety of serious side effects.
At Balanced Hormones and Health, we use only bioidentical hormones in our hormone treatment regimens.
